The Information Services Data Architect (DA) is responsible for the overall design of the data/information architecture within our Information Services area (Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics). This will include the definition of standards, policies and procedures, defining data models, applications of standards to projects / applications. Through this activity, the Data Architect will enable consistent business analysis, streamlined data acquisition, environment optimization, and compliance with applicable regulations and security standards. This work will be done in collaboration with our Enterprise Architecture group, business partners, and IT application development teams. Candidate should have Insurance background.
Responsibilities:Data Management
Work with Enterprise Data Architect to define and maintain the data architecture standards and conventions
Ensure that data architecture standards and conventions are appropriately applied within Information Services applications
Establish, document, and maintain consistent data definitions
Data Modeling and Logical Data Modeling
Understand information and business process to create high quality data models
Maintain and publish data mappings of data elements across systems for applications within Information Services
Support data migration and integration efforts
Dimensional Modeling
Document and maintain models
Develop and maintain standards
Data Security Management
Understand data privacy, confidentiality, and security requirements as defined by the Enterprise Data Architect
Classify and document information confidentiality for Information Services Applications
Ensure that privacy rules are adhered to within Information Services
Supports audits for data security
Metadata Management
Ensure the proper capture and management of metadata within Information Services department
Implement and maintain a managed metadata environment within Information Services
Data Quality
Manage data quality strategy within Information Services
Define and implement data quality metrics
Define data quality requirements and business rules
Identify, escalate, and facilitate, the resolution of data quality issues
Qualifications:
Understanding of the insurance industry and data management disciplines
Understanding of data modeling techniques including dimensional modeling
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must demonstrate initiative, exercise good judgment, exhibit strong profit orientation, and have the ability to achieve results through others.
Strong conceptual, analytical, judgment, and communication abilities are critical

years? experience in IT functions within the business intelligence and information services area.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
Demonstrated experience in data modeling within analytics environment
Ability to easily move between multiple projects at any given time
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and the ability to communicate with audiences at varying technical levels
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
