Point of Care Coordinator/ Quality Systems Manager

Position Summary
Under supervision of the laboratory supervisor, applies practical and theoretical knowledge of as it applies to point of care testing activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Position overlaps all areas where point of care testing takes place, on-site and off-site. In addition, assumes responsibility for all quality system functions including but not limited to internal audits, quality monitoring, process improvement, inspection readiness, and regulatory compliance
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:
Oversees all aspects of point of care operation and testing.
Ensures the point of care instrument interface is maintained and operational.
Performs dictionary maintenance on point of care interface.
Acts as liaison between lab and nursing/MA leadership as it relates to point of care testing to assure regulatory compliance of point of care testing personnel.
Review all point of care reports.
Assists with staff training as required.
Performs other duties as directed.
Reviews QC for all systems and ensures compliance with testing protocols
Oversees the quality assurance and proficiency testing programs.
Ensure quality monitor reporting, internal audits, and regulatory compliance.
Reviews regulations to ensure all changes are implemented.
Compiles and presents quality systems initiatives
Assists in the development and revision of policies as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements
New York State Medical Technologist license required.
B.S. degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Science.
6 years of relevant hospital experience in clinical laboratory.
ASCP or NCA certification preferred.

May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
